Why Grass Is Important

Why is grass so important?
For over 20 years my wife and I have lived at our current house which has a larger than normal garden. We have divided our work in the garden – my wife looking after the borders – mainly stocked with cottage garden plants – and I have tended the grass. I have used my knowledge and experience as a football groundsman to transform it year on year. Renovating and levelling the soil, reseeding and most recently feeding and cutting the grass to maintain its health.
I’ve grown to understand how important green, striped grass is to a garden. Not just because it helps to provide structure and a framing for the borders, but it is by itself a joy to look at. Even if you have no borders, well tended grass is a must!
The picture on the front page is my garden – it is my pride and joy. I want to bring some of my passion to your garden.
